Objectives

At the dawn of the third millennium, we are moving more rapidly into the communication era. Computers are everywhere. Networks are developing. Internet appears as a converging platform to the system of information.

The information technologies are progressively infiltrating into the economic system. They become an integral part of the development strategy of the administrations and the enterprises.

Careers

An education oriented to the " job market ".

On their first employment, our graduates will be engaged in engineering designs or researches, will be conceiving new products or creating optimization procedures requiring competences in different fields:
Systems, Networks, Telecommunications, Internet and Multimedia.

Without neglecting:
-Service enterprises and computer engineering,
-Software editors,
-Telecommunication operators ;

The outcomes seem quite evident for this type of education:
The graduates from the Faculty of Computer, Multimedia, and Telecommunication Engineering at the Antonine University can easily find a job in the industrial and tertiary sectors, such as banks.

Few jobs linked to the Internet:
-Internet/Intranet developer.
-Web designer: Design web pages. The Graphic designer uses drawing and electronic painting softwares to animate the text. Also, the Sound Designer produces sound effects and acoustic treatment.
-Webmaster: manage the web site.
-Leading manager internet/intranet: He is the project manager. He elaborates the architecture responding to the demand of information system.

Programs of studies

The studying cycles at the Antonine Faculty of Engineering in Computer, Multimedia and Telecommunication are as follow:

Preparatory cycle (2 Years) :
- Computer prep I (1 Year);
- Computer prep II (1 Year).

Engineering cycle (3 Years):
- Common trunk (1 Year and a half);
- Specialization (1 Year and a half).

1-The preparatory cycle:
The two years of this cycle enlighten working methods; set foundations and bases for the prerequisite knowledge of the engineering cycle, and the first ventures of computer science, multimedia and telecommunication.

2- The common trunk:

At this level, students face all the essential aspects of computer engineering, in theory and in practice. A good part of the education is dedicated to methods and systems as follow:
- Operating systems: Theory, Microsoft Windows NT and Linux .
- Information systems: Theory, SQL, Oracle server, Microsoft SQL server and essential servers SQL on Linux (MySql) .
- Client-server systems: E-commerce, systems for educative engineering and networks ;
- Local area networks (LAN) ;
- Metropolitan area networks (MAN) ;
- Wide area Networks (WAN) and especially the Internet.

3- The specialization:
At the end of the common trunk, the student selects one from these engineering options. They are all oriented towards the competence domains highly demanded in industry and in the job market. They are:
- Software engineering;
- Networks and Systems;
- Multimedia systems;
- Telecommunication, Internet and networks;
- Computer engineering.

Placing the computer science in the heart of learning, starting it from the first weeks of study; anchoring this engineering field professionally by a big number of projects and trainings, are the double educational standards of the Faculty of Engineering at The Antonine University.
